DoCE is the Government of Malawi’s lead institution for civic education. It:
- Regulates and coordinates civic education providers across the country
- Sets national standards for content, delivery and accreditation
- Promotes active citizenship and participation in governance processes
- Safeguards quality and neutrality of civic messages and materials
Through its partnership with Boma Lathu, DoCE:
- Supplies verified civic content and policy interpretation
- Works with Civic Education Hubs, CSOs, media, and communities
- Ensures that all civic education under Boma Lathu is neutral, inclusive, and rights-based
Together, DoCE and Boma Lathu are building a more informed, inclusive, and responsible society.
